PARTICIPATION IN SCHOLARSIP SCHEMES/PANNELS

a)—Islamic University in Uganda Main Scholarship Committee- In this committee I sometimes chair the meetings, considers criteria, and also solicit help for needy students from different Ugandan and International Sponsorship Agencies such as the Association of Commonwealth Universities and other funding schemes

b)The Alimiyya Sajjabi Foundation Scholarship Board, Uganda- This is a philanthropic non- government organization to which I am Vice Chiarman. The Foundation considers selection and placement of needy students in a regional representation of Ugandan Districts. More than 10 students have so far benefited from the scholarships.

c)The Ford Foundation International Fellowship Programme- I participated as a member of the Uganda National Panel of the Select Committee of the Ford Foundation International Scholarships for two years running i.e., 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 Academic years. Over 2000 candidates apply for this scholarship but my panel was involved in selecting only between 16 and 22 qualified and deserving merit candidates. My contribution to this panel has been very significant, thus renewed annually as a member of the panel

Note- In all my roles in various scholarship Boards or committees, I have maintained maximum confidentiality impartiality, fairness and justice in the selection process.
